– added some codes to prevent an “undefined” player appearing in the chat list. I’m not sure if this is actually client or server side related (and whether this is a new problem due to the latest updates), but I’ve placed some checks in the server to possibly solve this issue
– allow more time for players who get booted from a game room (and haven’t switched rooms) to resume their bonus counts as long as they still come back to the game and continue to play within the alloted timeframe. of course if it has been too long already, the server will assume the player has left the room for good and will reset the counts appropriately

above, and a few other recent changes, will take effect later after the daily game server restarts…

– Fixed a bug in the room monitoring codes. 5 rooms were “duplicated” in one of the servers, and as a result, since no one is playing in those duplicated rooms, the server keeps on restarting the rooms thinking the game rooms were having troubles. This messes up the # of players displayed on the home page (always being reset to zero), as well as not being able to locate the players in the real active rooms. This is actually related to the bug I posted yesterday below, and also explains why some players are getting and seeing the +75 bonus points most likely during intermission (the bonus 75 points is given whenever a room gets restarted, except this time, the duplicated rooms were the ones being restarted). Anyway, this should be completely fixed now, though the player count display and some player status (for those playing in the affected rooms) are still inaccurate.

– fixed an issue related to a player’s status (as a result of the latest updates). previously, this affected the display of the number of players in a room (home page), as well as finding the room a particular player is currently in (Friends page). the fix may take up to 24 hrs before it takes effect in all the rooms (most likely until the scheduled daily game server restarts already)
– fixed minor number formatting issues in bingo

still need to monitor for other possible new issues…

– fixed a bug in the latest updates, where the current top players flashed inside the game are those at the bottom of the list instead. it may take up to 24 hrs before some of the rooms pick-up the correct list

– changes in mail headers so outgoing e-mails become more spam-check friendly
– changed Friend invitation e-mail, so recipients can reply directly to sender’s email instead
– fixed some minor HTML tag inconsistencies in a few pages
– widen mouse-over of checkbox (affects options and buy buttons) so even the text label is mouse-aware
– minor changes on how the 3-digit box is handled and displayed
– database table changes (and corresponding page/code updates) to accomodate new games like slingo
– added a few more chat smileys (hidden/inactive in some lower level-rooms)
– minor graphic changes in the bingo board
– optimized/simpler code checks in the home page (related to # of players)
– moved card tabs location (and some minor gfx changes) to make it more obvious that you can actually view all your cards per group of 6. It looks like some players aren’t even aware that this can actually be done
– changed internal system of player status monitoring
– fixed a bug in the chat server when there are more than 100 icons already (just changed to hex format to maintain the same processing)
– opened a new high-level room
– introduced a new bonus system, based on the number of consecutive games, which is awarded to the player whenever he wins (on top of the regular pot and jackpot), this may still need some tweaking…

I have ordered a new server, which is currently dedicated to serving web pages. This should free up the other servers intended for running the games, and also make page-loading generally faster. The machine has been put in production use for about a month now, and things are looking stable so far. This is also in preparation for the longggg-delayed new slingo game which I hope to launch (in beta) very soon, in time for the site’s 1st year anniversary.
